1936 (Newton) Squadron Air Training Corps.

The Air Training Corps was originally formed in 1941 and is a national voluntary youth organisation supported by the Royal Air Force. It caters for young people aged between 12 and 20 years of either sex.

HRH The Duchess of Cambridge is the ATC’s Honorary Air Commandant. The Aims of the ATC are:

• To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
• To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
• To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
